Mecum Auctions will host its annual classic and collector car auction in Kansas City from December 5-7 at the Kansas City Convention Center, marking the event’s 31st year in the city. With approximately 850 vehicles on offer, the auction features classic muscle and sports cars, Hot Rods, and antiques, along with cars that have compelling stories and charitable goals.
Highlighting the auction is a limited-edition 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Twister Special Fastback (Lot S149), featuring the coveted 428 CI Super Cobra Jet V-8 engine. This “territorial special” was exclusively distributed in the Kansas City area and has become a regular attraction at Mecum’s Kansas City auctions.
Other notable vehicles include a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup (Lot F154), customized by RealTruck and MeatEater, with proceeds benefiting Folds of Honor, which supports the families of fallen or disabled service members. The truck will be displayed at a launch party at Blip Roaster on December 4 before the auction.
A unique 2024 ArtCar project from Olathe North High School—a 2017 Ford Mustang Convertible (Lot F271)—will also be up for bid, with proceeds benefiting the Kansas City Automotive Museum.
The Coastal Texas Collection will showcase nearly 20 no-reserve vehicles, including a red 1957 Corvette convertible (Lot F211) and a 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 (Lot F212) with just 27,954 miles.
Consignments for Mecum Kansas City 2024 are still being accepted, and bidder registration remains open throughout the event.
