Previously known as the M135i, BMW has dropped the “i” for this updated edition. Have the other changes improved it compared to the previous model?

There are several design updates. The grille now has horizontal slats, and the front bumper has been redesigned. Unique alloy wheel patterns, gloss black mirrors, and side skirts enhance the car’s appearance. At the rear, there is a larger roof spoiler compared to the standard version, complete with real quad tailpipes.

Inside, there are several enhancements over the standard model, including a sports steering wheel, sports seats, and M-coloured LED lights. However, many of these features are also available with the M Sport trim on the regular model. The infotainment screen is responsive, but it requires many controls to be operated via the touch-sensitive interface.

Regarding performance, the M135 is fitted with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine that delivers 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. It also comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The starting price is approximately £43,000. Is it worth it?
