Dog owners across Britain are truly going the extra mile to make their pups’ walking experiences unforgettable! A recent study by Isuzu UK has identified Ambleside in the Lake District as the nation’s favourite dog-walking spot. Surprisingly, a quarter of dog owners are prepared to travel nearly 70 miles to offer their furry friends a fantastic adventure. It’s all about chasing beautiful views, enjoying good weather, finding ample waste bins, and seeking out tranquil spots.
Ambleside leads the pack, while other beloved destinations feature the breathtaking landscapes of Snowdonia, the delightful New Forest, and the expansive Richmond Park in London. It’s heartwarming to see that 84% of dog owners agree that walking their dogs enhances their mental health, with three-quarters eagerly anticipating their daily strolls.
On average, Brits spend over an hour each day walking their dogs, covering a total of 17 miles each week. Interestingly, one in four dog owners stick to the same route every day, and 68% admit they’re becoming a bit bored with it. Moreover, more than half say that walking their pup is their primary form of exercise!
George Wallis, Head of Marketing at Isuzu UK, understands how deeply dog owners care for their companions and emphasises that the D-Max is designed for those exciting outings. It is packed with practical accessories to make every trip easier and more enjoyable.
When it comes to walking companions, partners and children are the most popular choices, while 17% prefer to stroll alone. Many dog owners enjoy allowing their pets to explore during walks and appreciate a spirited game of fetch. One in three like to run alongside their dogs, while 30% value the opportunity to chat with other dog owners!
