The Lotus Theory 1 concept car will debut at the Lotus stand during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, celebrating an impressive 75 years of Formula 1. In honour of racing legends Ayrton Senna and Jim Clark, Lotus will display the iconic Lotus Type 33, which helped Clark win his 1965 F1 title, and the Lotus 97T, marking Senna’s first race victory.
Ben Payne, Vice President of Design at Lotus Group, described Theory 1 as a daring vision for the future, combining innovative design and technology to enhance the driving experience.
Clive Chapman, Managing Director of Classic Team Lotus, will participate in exclusive interviews at the stand, reflecting on the remarkable accomplishments of both drivers. The 2025 event marks the 40th anniversary of Senna’s first F1 victory and the 60th anniversary of Clark’s championship year, honouring their lasting legacy.
Team Lotus will reveal the Emira Cup racer, designed to enable both enthusiasts and novice racers to compete in the Lotus Cup series worldwide. The range, including the Evija, Emeya, Eletre, and Emira, will stand out in daily hill runs, with product specialists on hand to inspire visitor enquiries.
Throughout the weekend, journalist Natasha Bird will host discussions at the Lotus stand, exploring the brand’s rich racing heritage and inspiring the motorsport industry to embrace inclusivity.
Visitors can enjoy daily “Lotus Moments” at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM at the Lotus stand, filled with energy and surprises for the whole family.
On Thursday at 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM, participate in discussions with Lotus representatives about the brand’s inspiring journey. On Friday at 2:00 PM, attend a special panel dedicated to promoting inclusion in motorsport, organised in partnership with Race for Diversity and Inclusion.
Lotus will pay tribute to legends Jim Clark and Ayrton Senna on Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 PM, where Clive Chapman will share heartfelt interviews and cherished memories of these extraordinary F1 heroes.
