A notable piece of royal motoring history—the 1960 Jaguar Mk IX Saloon that chauffeured the Princess of Wales and her children to Pippa Middleton’s wedding—is set to be auctioned at H&H Classics’ inaugural Kelham Hall auction on Wednesday, September 10th.

Estimated to sell for £30,000 to £35,000, this Jaguar served as wedding transport at St. Mark’s Church, where Catherine, Princess of Wales, was accompanied by Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The car, finished in elegant Warwick Grey with red leather upholstery and walnut trim, is in excellent condition with just 31,000 miles on the odometer, supported by a comprehensive history file. The owner has invested around £6,000 in mechanical work in recent years, ensuring it remains usable while retaining its period character.

Oliver Fernyhough-Martin, junior motor car specialist at H&H Classics, stated, “The Mk IX has a wonderful presence—big, elegant, and timeless. Its royal connection adds to the appeal, but its excellent condition and low mileage make it truly special.”

Launched in 1959, the Mk IX exemplifies Jaguar’s blend of luxury and sporting flair. With only 10,009 units produced before the model was replaced by the Mk X in 1961, this well-presented example is particularly desirable.

It will be auctioned alongside other classic and collector cars at Kelham Hall, marking H&H Classics’ debut sale at this historic venue.
