Kia Expands Electric Car Grant Eligibility to More Models, Including EV3 and New EV4 ‘Motion’
Kia UK has broadened the range of vehicles eligible for the Government Electric Car Grant, announcing that both the EV3 and a new EV4 ‘Motion’ grade now qualify for the incentive. This move is expected to make electric vehicles more accessible to both retail and fleet customers across the UK.
The EV3, one of Kia’s most acclaimed models in recent years, is now available with a £1,500 discount on the on-the-road price for its ‘Air’ and ‘GT-Line’ trims. With the grant applied, the EV3 ‘Air’ Standard Range (featuring a 58.3kWh battery) starts at £31,555, while the Long Range variant (81.4kWh battery) begins at £34,555. The EV3 becomes the third Kia model to qualify for the grant, joining the EV4 and PV5 Passenger, which were included in December 2025. Only vehicles meeting stringent sustainability and environmental standards are eligible for the grant.
Since its launch at the end of 2024, the EV3 has quickly become the fastest-selling fully electric model in Kia’s history, earning numerous accolades, including ‘2025 UK Car of the Year’ and ‘2025 World Car of the Year’. The lineup was recently expanded with a dual-motor AWD ‘GT’ variant, with details on pricing and specifications expected later in 2026.
In addition to the EV3, Kia has introduced a new high-specification EV4 ‘Motion’ model. Positioned between the ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ trims, the EV4 ‘Motion’ features premium amenities, including an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, unique upholstery, heated outer rear seats, surround view and blind-spot monitors, and an electric driver’s seat with lumbar support. Like most EV4 grades, the ‘Motion’ is powered by a 201bhp front-mounted electric motor and an 81.4kWh battery.

The EV4 ‘Motion’ shares exterior details with the ‘Air’ variant, such as 17-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured door mirrors, and silver window surrounds. Available exclusively as a five-door hatchback produced at Kia’s Žilina plant in Slovakia, the EV4 ‘Motion’ is now open for orders starting at £38,995, inclusive of the £1,500 grant. Full specifications, including range details, will be announced in due course. The ‘Motion’ trim will not be available for the EV4 Fastback lineup.
With these updates, Kia now offers the EV3, EV4, and PV5 Passenger with the Electric Car Grant, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to making electric mobility more attainable. All qualifying models can be ordered through Kia dealerships and PBV Centres nationwide. Further announcements on the grant and additional eligible models, including the anticipated EV2, are expected in the coming months.
