It’s time for a little vs. large showdown! Carwow’s Mat Watson has brought his Suzuki Jimny to go head-to-head over the quarter-mile against a massive Hummer H2. Let’s see how the two compare.
Starting with the Jimny, it’s powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder engine that can produce 101hp and 130Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels only by a 5-speed manual gearbox, and it weighs 1,135kg. When new, it cost just £22,000.
Next, we have the Hummer. The H2 is powered by a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine that can produce 398hp and 563Nm. All this power is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and it weighs a colossal 2,850kg! When new, the Hummer H2 cost around £45,000.
So the Hummer has much more power, but it’s also significantly heavier. Let’s see if this weight difference will prove decisive. There’s only one way to find out for sure and in Mats’ words… LET’S RACE!
