MG Motor UK has launched the new MG3 Hybrid+ supermini, now available for ordering. The SE and Trophy models highlight MG’s commitment to offering drivers value by providing hybrid technology at a comparable or lower price than many petrol superminis sold in the UK.
The MG Hybrid+ SE starts at £18,495 OTR, with the better-equipped Trophy model at £20,495 OTR and a 7-year/80,000-mile warranty. Designed for safety, comfort, and entertainment, the MG3 Hybrid+ boasts generous equipment levels like the award-winning MG4 EV hatchback.
The MG3 Hybrid+ models have dual screen technology, satellite navigation, and MG Pilot. Safety features include AEB, FCW, LDW, LKAS, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The Trophy MG3 Hybrid+ includes a 360° camera, heated front seats and steering wheel, keyless entry, privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers, and LED projector headlights.
The new MG3 boasts a highly efficient Hybrid+ powertrain that brings MG’s performance and verve to the supermini segment.
The MG3 is a hybrid supermini with a larger battery (1.83kWh) and high-performance electric motor (100kW). It’s ideal for city driving and also features a 1.5-litre petrol engine for longer journeys. The Hybrid+ system allows the petrol engine to drive the wheels while charging the battery through the generator. The MG3 Hybrid+ returns impressive economy figures of 64.2mpg (4.4l/100km) and 100g/km of CO2.
The MG3 offers three different driving modes – Eco, Standard and Sport, allowing drivers to customize the car’s responsiveness according to their preferences. The car boasts a class-leading combined power of 143kW, resulting in a quick 0-62mph time of 8.0 seconds. Furthermore, the MG3 Hybrid+ chassis and suspension has been fine-tuned for UK roads by the company’s engineering team based in Longbridge, similar to the agile MG4. The car’s mid-range acceleration is also impressive, taking just 5.0 seconds to go from 50-70mph.
