In 2024, 166,304 new Volkswagen passenger vehicles were registered, 4,217 more than in 2023, giving the brand a market share of 8.52 percent. The Golf was the best-selling model, marking its 50th anniversary with 32,370 registrations, while the Polo also made the top 10.
Key new models introduced in 2024 included the all-new ID.7 and ID.7 Tourer, updated Passat and Tiguan, and revised T-Cross and Golf, along with stylish Black Editions and Match trims.
Looking ahead to 2025, Volkswagen plans to expand its lineup with the Tayron and new T-Roc, plus the anticipated ID. 2all and ID. 2X electric cars.
Rod McLeod, Director of Volkswagen UK, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “I am thrilled that Volkswagen is once again the top-selling new-car brand in the UK, with a strong lead over competitors. The past year featured several highlights, including the Golf’s 50th anniversary and accolades for new models like the ID.7 and Passat.”
