The 2025 Goodwood Revival will take place from 12-14 September and will showcase five rolling sculptures from the iconic BMW Art Car series at the Earls Court Motor Show. Over the past 50 years, the BMW Art Car Collection has featured designs by renowned artists, including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Koons, and David Hockney.

Since 1975, the BMW Group has enabled artists to express their passion for automobiles through these Art Cars, blending art, technology, and engineering. This collection has inspired many initiatives in contemporary art, music, film, and design.

The exhibition at Goodwood is part of the BMW Art Car World Tour, celebrating the collection’s 50th anniversary by showcasing these iconic cars worldwide. The five featured cars will be displayed at the Revival Event.

1976 I Frank Stella BMW 3.0 CSL

In 1976, artist Frank Stella redesigned the BMW 3.0 CSL, known for competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As the second piece in the BMW Art Cars collection, Stella’s work featured bold black and white lines, emphasising the car’s impressive 750 hp engine.

1977 I Roy Lichtenstein BMW 320i Turbo

One year later, pop artist Roy Lichtenstein added his iconic “Ben-Day dots” to the BMW 320i Turbo, which competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by its founder Hervé Poulain and Marcel Mignot.

1982 I Ernst Fuchs BMW 635 CSi

The fifth piece in the collection, the BMW 635 CSi, was created by Austrian artist Ernst Fuchs in 1982. Titled “Fire Fox on a Hare Hunt,” it was the first design based on a production car, differing from his earlier works.

1995 I David Hockney BMW 850 CSi

David Hockney created the 14th car in the collection: the BMW 850 CSi. His design features the car’s inner workings through detailed paintwork, including the outline of a driver on the door and a stylised suction vent on the button—subtle details that invite closer inspection.

2010 I Jeff Koons BMW M3 GT2

American artist Jeff Koons used a vibrant palette of contrasting colours for his BMW M3 GT2, the 17th BMW Art Car. This design embodies power and movement, conveying speed and energy even when the car is stationary.

The collection of cars will be showcased at the Goodwood Revival weekend in Earls Court during its worldwide tour.
