Audi expands its A6 lineup with a new saloon, setting new standards in design and comfort. It has the lowest drag coefficient ever for a production Audi with a combustion engine, optimizing performance for efficient TFSI and TDI engines. A balanced suspension ensures comfort and control, complemented by advanced infotainment and driver assistance technologies. The A6 Saloon will be available in the UK from May 13, 2025, starting at £50,560, and is expected to reach customers by early July.
CEO Gernot Döllner emphasised that the new A6 Saloon combines elegant design, top-notch aerodynamics, and high-performance drive systems, ensuring a luxurious travel experience. This launch is part of Audi’s initiative to modernise its product portfolio and strengthen its competitive position. Built on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), the new A6 also features the latest E 1.2 electronics architecture for enhanced connectivity and digital capabilities.
Advanced Digital Lighting Technology
Audi’s advanced lighting technology enhances road safety and embodies the brand’s identity. The new A6 Saloon features innovative digitised headlights and rear lights tailored to suit driver preferences while improving communication with other road users.
The A6 Saloon comes standard in the UK with Matrix LED headlights, which feature 48 individual LED segments per headlight. These are designed with a hexagon-perforated stainless-steel screen that stylishly conceals the digital daytime running lights.
With seven digital light signatures at both the front and rear, including active signatures that intelligently brighten and dim, personalisation options are plentiful. The coming-home and leaving-home functions create an eye-catching lighting sequence when the car is stationary.
Customisation Options: Colours and Wheels
The new Midnight Green and pearl-effect drivers have ten colour options for the A6, including solid Arkona White, metallic finishes like Mythos Black and the new Midnight Green, and pearl-effect Daytona Grey.
Audi offers wheel designs ranging from 18 to 21 inches. Sport models feature standard 18-inch 5-twin-spoke wheels, while S-line models are upgraded to 19-inch options. Top-spec Edition 1 models showcase a 20-inch alloy wheel, with a 21-inch option.
Exclusive options provide further customisation, including unique exterior colours and new interior and leather choices.
Business Lounge: Interior Design Philosophy
The interior of the A6 Saloon reflects Audi’s new design philosophy. It focuses on a human-centric and material-driven approach that prioritises space, comfort, and occupant needs while maintaining visual clarity.
The Audi MMI panoramic display is central to this design: a curved OLED screen featuring an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch MMI touch screen. In Edition 1 models, a 10.9-inch front passenger display is seamlessly integrated into the dashboard, providing access to websites, streaming video, and navigation while ensuring privacy for the driver.
The optional Sound & Vision pack introduces a configurable head-up display (HUD) that shows vital information such as speed and navigation. This HUD provides improved control over vehicle and infotainment functions, with an image area more than 85% larger than that of previous models.
In contrast to the digital features, a Softwrap design spans the instrument panel, creating a spacious feel with high-quality materials, including cloth and leather-like finishes made from partially recycled fabrics.
The A6 Saloon also impresses in low light, with contoured dashboard and door lighting enhancing its width and creating a floating effect below the display. A dynamic interaction light with 84 LEDs below the windscreen improves communication with occupants, featuring welcome functions and safety signals when locking or unlocking the vehicle.
