Honda has just unveiled two prototype models at CES 2025: the Honda 0 Saloon and the Honda 0 SUV, both part of the upcoming Honda 0 Series, which will launch globally in 2026. Honda also introduced its original vehicle operating system (OS), the ASIMO OS, for its electric vehicle (EV) lineup.

Honda 0 Saloon

The Honda 0 Saloon prototype builds on last year’s concept model from CES 2024. It features a sporty design with a low height and offers a surprisingly spacious interior. As the Honda 0 Series flagship, it is based on a new dedicated EV architecture and incorporates advanced technologies aligned with Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” philosophy.

Key features include Level 3 automated driving technology and “ultra-personal optimisation” for a tailored mobility experience made possible by the ASIMO OS. The production model will launch in North America in 2026, followed by other markets, including Japan and Europe.

Honda 0 SUV

The Honda 0 SUV is a mid-size EV SUV based on the Space-Hub concept model from CES 2024. This model prioritises spaciousness and flexibility within a refined interior.

It will feature high-precision attitude estimation and stabilisation control using 3D gyro sensors, enhancing driving dynamics on various road surfaces. The production model is also set for a North American release in the first half of 2026, with subsequent launches in Japan and Europe.

ASIMO OS

Honda’s 0 Series models will be equipped with ASIMO OS, an original operating system developed to enhance the ‘Wise’ concept in its global electric vehicle (EV) series.

Honda introduced ASIMO, a humanoid robot capable of autonomous walking, in 2000 after years of robotics research starting in 1986. The robot became a beloved icon in robotics.

Post-ASIMO development, Honda has focused on advancing robotics technologies that recognise surroundings and control autonomous behaviour, enabling an understanding of human intentions. These technologies combine with advanced intelligence in the Honda 0 Series to offer unique value in software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

ASIMO OS facilitates integrated control of electronic control units (ECUs) for automated driving (AD/ADAS) and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. Regular over-the-air (OTA) updates will enhance software functionality even after purchase and adapt to user preferences.

Features subject to updates will improve the digital user experience (UX) and overall space value, ensuring an enjoyable mobility experience while enhancing the joy of driving and allowing a strong connection between the driver and vehicle.
