Nissan is intensifying its electrification strategy by launching two all-new electric vehicles in 2025 and an updated version of its e-POWER technology.

At the Sunderland plant, workers are preparing to produce a new third-generation LEAF electric vehicle, with the first cars expected later this year. The plant will also manufacture upgraded Qashqai models featuring new e-POWER technology, which enhances efficiency and refinement. The next-generation Juke will be available as an electric vehicle for the first time in the fiscal year 2026.

The all-new Micra, also returning as a fully electric vehicle, is set to launch in 2025. Designed at Nissan Design Europe in London, it will feature two battery options (40 kWh and 52 kWh) and a range of over 248 miles, with production taking place at the Ampere ElectriCity plant in France.

The third-generation LEAF, built on Nissan’s CMF-EV platform, will draw attention with its aerodynamic design. It will be manufactured in Sunderland as part of the EV36Zero project, which aims to establish a leading hub for electric vehicles, renewable energy, and battery production.

Nissan’s updated e-POWER technology will improve emissions and efficiency, providing a driving experience akin to that of a fully electric vehicle. With nearly 250,000 e-POWER vehicles sold in Europe, Nissan is dedicated to advancing this technology.

These upcoming electrified models are part of a broader initiative encompassing global product updates announced across various regions, including Japan, the USA, and Europe.
