Sweden is our home, characterised by deep lakes, endless forests, stunning mountain ranges, and some of the harshest winters on the planet. It is also known for producing some of the best and most enjoyable cars ever.
Today, Volvo has unveiled the new EX30 Cross Country and an entirely new experience to accompany it. The launch event took place during a literal fireside chat at a secluded winter cabin in northern Sweden in collaboration with the outdoor equipment brand Fjällräven.
The EX30 Cross Country is designed for those seeking significant adventures in a compact, fully electric SUV. It builds on the successful foundation of the EX30, incorporating rugged elements that make it ideal for the growing number of people who wish to explore beyond the confines of crowded cities, regardless of the weather—be it rain, shine, or the depth of snow and ice.

Volvo believes that the term “Cross Country” should encompass an experience, not just a vehicle. Alongside the EX30 Cross Country, we are introducing a new experience package for customers who purchase the car. This package includes access to accessories, gear, and information to help users maximise their potential for outdoor exploration.
Jim Rowan, CEO of Volvo Cars, stated, “We launched our first Cross Country car more than 25 years ago, and the concept of durable, all-weather vehicles is central to the Volvo brand. In Sweden, we face harsh winters but enjoy making the most of them by exploring our incredible natural surroundings, even when temperatures drop to minus 20 degrees Celsius. That’s why we aim to deliver a comprehensive experience, not just a car, to our EX30 Cross Country customers.”
