XPENG, a leading Chinese high-tech car company, has revealed its dealer network strategy ahead of its launch in early 2025.
In November 2024, XPENG partnered with automotive distributor International Motors Limited (IML) to outline its UK launch plans. The first model will be the zero-tailpipe-emission XPENG G6, a mid-size electric SUV tailored for European consumers. It features 800-volt supercharging and a long driving range.
During a presentation to the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), William Brown, Managing Director at IML, emphasized the importance of having a strong dealer network. He stated, “While some manufacturers are moving toward direct sales, we are committed to the traditional dealer model, which enhances the customer experience.”
IML aims to appoint up to 20 forward-thinking dealers in the UK by the end of 2025, with potential expansion to 40 dealers in 2026 as sales grow. Many existing partners will also serve as aftersales support points.
With nearly 50 years of experience, IML has established a strong reputation in the automotive market and operates a 240,000 sq. ft. parts and logistics warehouse in West Bromwich, Midlands.
