Dedicated to honoring heritage and enhancing modern performance, Boreham Motorworks will unveil the all-new Ford Escort Mk1 on December 12, 2024. As the ‘One True Descendant’ of the RS lineage, this new Ford Escort Mk1 draws design and performance inspiration from the high-performance Escort Mk1 variants that once dominated the roads of Europe and the world of motorsport.

From the Boreham-built Escort Twin-Cam to the championship-winning Alan Mann Racing Group 5 car, as well as the iconic RS2000, the team at Boreham Motorworks aims to celebrate Ford Motor Company’s legendary road, race, and rally icons, along with its significant heritage.

Our cars are born from passion, and the Mk1 will not be an electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid. It will exclusively feature petrol engines and manual transmissions, as we are guided by our heritage and committed to evolving it rather than dismissing it.

As the ultimate expression of the RS lineage, the new Escort seamlessly combines cutting-edge engineering with the raw driving spirit of the original Rallye Sport icons. It is the definitive successor, engineered for Peak Analogue® driving. The Ford Escort Mk1 by Boreham Motorworks is not merely inspired by its predecessors; it truly embodies the essence of the One True Descendant.

Iain Muir, CEO of DRVN Automotive Group, commented: “At DRVN, we understand that true automotive passion comes from the connection between driver and machine—a relationship woven through the sound, feel, and response of a car designed to be driven. The Ford Escort Mk1 embodies this ethos, blending timeless design with performance that inspires confidence and joy. We design for the road, not the runway. We embrace everything drivers love about cars.”
