NASCAR legends Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Bill Elliott, Ken Schrader, and Bobby Labonte, along with Danny Sullivan and Scott Pruett, will compete in the IROC race group at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, taking place from August 13 to 16 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Ray Evernham, co-owner of IROC and former crew chief for Jeff Gordon, is excited to reunite the cars with many of their original drivers. “This event will be a great experience for drivers and fans alike,” said Evernham.
Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, will drive a 1977 Chevrolet IROC Camaro that was once raced by motorsports legends. Bruce Canepa will drive a Dodge Avenger that has a rich history of champions behind the wheel.
Jeff Gordon, a four-time NASCAR Champion, has 93 wins in his career. Mark Martin, a five-time IROC Champion, has 40 NASCAR wins. Bobby Labonte, the 2000 Winston Cup Champion, aims to defend his IROC title. Bill Elliott, a multi-race winner and the 1988 champion, and INDYCAR legend Danny Sullivan will also compete.
The IROC race compound, located in the paddock, will feature autograph sessions and discussions, creating an engaging environment for fans.
