The Dacia Sandriders wrapped up their first Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia with impressive results. Nasser Al-Attiyah and Édouard Boulanger secured their fifth top-three stage finish in this prestigious event.
After debuting with a win at the Rallye du Maroc last October, the team aimed to complete the tough FIA World Rally-Raid Championship opener. With two out of three sustainably fueled Dacia Sandrider cars finishing in Shubaytah, they achieved their goal.
This success came from overcoming significant challenges over the 7,828 km route, which tested the team for two weeks. Among the highlights were a stage win for Al-Attiyah and Boulanger and strong performances from Cristina Gutiérrez and Pablo Moreno.
Al-Attiyah and Boulanger competed fiercely for a podium finish, ultimately placing fourth overall, showcasing the Dacia Sandrider’s potential. Al-Attiyah also made history by clocking the fastest stage time in 18 consecutive Dakar participations. Although he remains one win away from tying the record of 50 wins, he finished second quickest on three stages.
