For the upcoming model year, the XC40, EX40, EC40, V60, and V90 models will receive two major tech upgrades.

We are introducing a new-generation user experience across our lineup. This features Qualcomm Technologies’ ultra-fast Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform, enhancing the speed and responsiveness of the infotainment system. Europe’s EX30, EX40, and EC40 models will also include the Plug & Charge service for more effortless public charging.

Our goal is to simplify complex features using customer feedback. The new-generation Volvo Car UX, already seen in the EX30, EX90, and new XC90 offers a more intuitive way to interact with your car’s infotainment screen. Frequently used apps are easily accessible, and a contextual bar that adapts to your needs.

Starting this year, all of the above-mentioned models will feature Volvo Car UX, and millions of existing Volvo cars with Google built-in will receive this upgrade via over-the-air software updates by late 2025.

By rolling out the new Volvo Car UX, we aim for a consistent user experience across all models, providing customers with more choices,” says Erik Severinson, Volvo Cars’ chief product and strategy officer.

Faster Infotainment System

The next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform enhances the infotainment systems’ speed and responsiveness, making it twice as fast and graphics rendering up to 10 times quicker. This improvement reduces driver distraction, promoting safer driving.

Seamless Charging Process

Finally, the Plug & Charge feature will simplify charging for Europe’s EX30, EX40, and EC40 models. With this system, connect to a compatible charging station, and payment is automatically processed without extra steps.

Specific details for the UK product offerings will be confirmed later this year.
