AC Cars has introduced an exciting new 2.0-litre engine option for the AC Cobra GT Roadster and GT Coupe, set to launch in 2026. This complements existing normally aspirated and supercharged V8 models while maintaining the unique aluminum chassis and carbon fibre bodywork that define these sports cars.

The new engine, developed in collaboration with a leader in hybrid and internal combustion powertrains, will be offered in two tuning states, targeting performance and lighter weight compared to the V8 variants. Additional carbon fibre components will further reduce weight. Full specifications and power outputs, expected to reach up to 390bhp, will be revealed in spring 2025.

Additionally, AC Cars will offer a new dual-clutch gearbox alongside the six-speed manual option. CEO David Conza highlighted that these developments allow the brand to appeal to markets with higher taxes on large engines. Prices for the new models are anticipated to start at £235,000, including VAT.
