The updated Tesla Model Y features several changes, including a Cybertruck-inspired front light bar, new alloy wheels, and a redesigned rear bumper. Inside, it maintains much of the previous model’s layout, including the helpful indicator stalk. Prices start at £44,990 and rise to £52,000 for the top model. The BYD Sealion stands out with its imposing exterior, large air intakes, and a rear light bar. Inside, it features leatherette finishes, physical buttons, and a rotating infotainment screen. The BYD starts at £47,000 and peaks at around £59,000 for the Excellence edition, which offers 530 horsepower, 690 Nm of torque, and weighs 2,420 kg.
In terms of efficiency, the Tesla achieves 3.7 miles per kWh, while the BYD manages 2.5 miles per kWh. The Tesla’s 75 kWh battery provides approximately 278 miles on a full charge, compared to the BYD’s 91.3 kWh battery, which offers around 228 miles.
