KGM Motors UK has unveiled the Musso EV, marking the company’s first fully electric pick-up for the British market. The new model blends the rugged utility of a traditional workhorse with the comfort of an SUV and the efficiency of a modern electric powertrain. Designed to appeal to both business and lifestyle buyers, the Musso EV promises capability without compromise.
With more than 55 years of pickup heritage, KGM Motors delivers the Musso EV as a compelling entrant, offering real-world electric range, substantial towing capacity, and practical payload capacity. Its bold, contemporary design ensures a strong presence on the road, while the spacious, SUV-inspired cabin provides advanced infotainment and comfort features, making it suitable for both work and leisure.
Kevin Griffin, Managing Director of KGM Motors UK, described the launch as a “major step forward for KGM in the UK, setting new standards for capability and innovation in the pickup market.” Griffin cited the Musso EV’s usable electric range, robust towing and payload figures, and driver convenience features as key selling points, offering both fleet and private buyers a credible alternative to diesel-powered rivals.
Powering the Musso EV is an 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by BYD, a global leader in eco-friendly vehicle technology. Utilising Cell to Pack technology to increase energy density, the battery enables a WLTP range of 240 miles and supports rapid DC charging from 20% to 80% in just 31 minutes on a 300 kW charger. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability allows users to run tools or leisure equipment directly from the pick-up.
Regenerative braking can be adjusted in three stages using steering wheel paddles, with the system intelligently adapting to gradients, traffic, and even speed cameras to improve efficiency and reduce driver effort. Dual front and rear 152.2 kW motors deliver 207 PS and 339 Nm of torque, supporting a towing capacity of 2.3 tonnes and a payload of 690 kg. The chassis features self-levelling suspension and a dynamic full-time all-wheel drive system that adjusts torque distribution for optimal stability on varying surfaces.
The load bed is designed for practicality, with the ability to fit partitions and a reinforced tailgate rated to support 150 kg, which can also serve as seating for two adults. The exterior features a bold black grille, LED lighting, muscular wheel arches, and diamond-cut alloy wheels, with a choice of six colours: Grand White, Amazon Green, Space Black, Ultra Marine, Marble Grey, and Blazing Gold.
Inside, the Musso EV offers a clean, ergonomic cabin layout highlighted by a panoramic widescreen that merges a 12.3-inch digital cluster with a 12.3-inch infotainment display powered by Athena 2.0. Heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, and rear heated seats with class-leading legroom ensure comfort for all occupants.
Safety has been prioritised with a structure comprising 78% high-tensile steel, eight airbags, and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, and a 3D Around-View Monitoring system.
The Musso EV will be available for customer test drives at participating UK dealerships from May 2026. Prices start at £42,495 including VAT, with the £2,500 Plug-in Van Grant factored in.
