Volkswagen Group UK recently announced an extension of its partnership with energy experts OVO to include company car and salary sacrifice customers. Starting 1 January 2025, buyers of vehicles from brands such as Audi, CUPRA, Škoda, and Volkswagen can access OVO’s ‘Charge Anytime’ add-on, along with 2,000 free miles at sign-up and annual bonuses of 1,000 free miles for the next three years*.
This initiative is part of Volkswagen’s commitment to electric vehicles (EVs). As the leading seller of battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) in the UK in 2024, Volkswagen recognizes the need for a supportive ecosystem, which includes home chargers in partnership with Ohme and energy supply through OVO.
Customers can charge at home for just 7p/kWh**. The Charge Anytime add-on has saved users over £10 million since its launch in 2022 by scheduling charging during lower carbon emissions and costs.
The partnership also enables petrol and diesel drivers to earn free EV miles through OVO Beyond, the UK’s first ‘Energy Savings Account’. They can accumulate an extra 50 miles on top of the 100 EV miles per month for up to 24 months when purchasing a new Volkswagen Group electric vehicle.
Alex Thwaites, OVO’s Director of EVs, noted, “Together with Volkswagen Group, we reward customers for switching to an EV.” Iker Lazzari, Head of Fleet Operations at Volkswagen Group UK, expressed satisfaction with offering fleet drivers the same EV benefits, emphasizing the commitment to making the transition to EVs easy and enjoyable.
