Alpine is developing its new 100% electric sport fastback in Swedish Lapland, undergoing final tests before its launch. The extreme conditions simulate five years of use, ensuring the vehicle’s durability and reliability.
With temperatures dropping to -40°C, testing on snowy roads and frozen lakes is essential for validating performance. The rigorous process aims to deliver an exhilarating experience for future owners, achieving the agility expected of Alpine while ensuring adaptability for various driving skills.
Lapland serves as an ideal testing ground for the vehicle’s three electric motor drive systems and five driving modes, including the innovative “Track Mode.” Real-world conditions allow for fine-tuning, enhancing handling and overall driving experience.
Key features under scrutiny include heating, demisting, defrosting, and the performance of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) on snow. Such tests are crucial as many factors cannot be accurately assessed in warmer conditions.
