Goodwood is excited to announce that this year’s Revival will celebrate the incredible life and career of Jim Clark, the Scottish farmer known as one of the most naturally gifted drivers of all time.

In 2025, we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Clark’s greatest season, where he won six Grands Prix, secured his second World Championship, and became the first driver to win the Indy 500 in a rear-engined car at over 150 mph. He is still the only driver to win the Formula 1 World Championship and the Indy 500 in the same season, alongside victories in the Tasman Cup and the French and British Formula 2 Championships.

Jim Clark won the final Formula 1 race at Goodwood on Easter Monday in 1965. Saturday, April 19, marks the 60th anniversary of that race, where Clark shared a lap record of 1 minute and 20.4 seconds with Jackie Stewart, a time unbeaten until the circuit closed in July 1966. That day, he also won the Sunday Mirror Trophy, St Marys Trophy, and Lavant Cup, showcasing his unmatched driving talent.

Tragically, Jim Clark died in a Formula 2 accident at Hockenheim on April 7, 1968. He ended his career with 25 victories and 33 pole positions in just 72 Grands Prix, holding the record for the most ‘Grand Slams’ in Formula 1 with eight, two more than Lewis Hamilton.

Despite his remarkable achievements, Clark remained a humble farmer who enjoyed his time on the family farm, Edington Mains, in the Scottish Borders. We look forward to honoring Jim Clark’s extraordinary legacy—“farmer and world champion motor racing driver”—which continues to inspire motorsport at Goodwood.

Sir Jackie Stewart, a three-time World Champion and joint holder of the Goodwood lap record, expressed his admiration for Jim Clark: “He was not only an exceptional racer but also a wonderful friend. I’m thrilled that Goodwood is honoring this remarkable man.”

Dario Franchitti, a four-time IndyCar Champion, shared: “As a fellow Scot, Jim Clark has always inspired me. Following in his footsteps at the Indianapolis 500 was a career highlight. I look forward to celebrating his legacy at Goodwood and the Jim Clark Trust event at Duns Castle in June.”

The Duke of Richmond CBE DL stated: “We are privileged to celebrate Jim Clark at the Goodwood Revival this year. His achievements in 1965, including winning the Formula 1 World Championship and the Indy 500 in the same season, are legendary. It’s an honour to pay tribute to him during the Revival weekend.”

Taking place across the weekend, the tribute to Jim Clark joins the previously announced all-sustainable fuel race listVW Type 2 Split Screen track opening paradeAlfa Romeo celebration and the opportunity to see Jenson Button go head-to-head in the RAC TT.
