The summer of 1995 was a landmark season in the UK, marked by a heatwave, the introduction of Sunday pub pints, and the third Festival of Speed. This year celebrates the 30th anniversary, and Goodwood is thrilled to welcome Carl Fogarty, who clinched his second WorldSBK Championship in 1995.

Fogarty dominated that season, winning more than half of the 24 races on his Ducati 916 and securing the title in Assen with five races to go. At this year’s Festival of Speed, he will reunite with his championship-winning bike, which will be on display throughout the event.

Fans can anticipate an iconic moment on the Goodwood balcony, highlighted by an interview with Fogarty. The 2025 Festival of Speed will celebrate WorldSBK, showcasing over 40 bikes from its golden era and welcoming many of Fogarty’s fellow riders.

I’m excited to be back at the Festival of Speed,” said Fogarty. “I haven’t seen my 1995 Ducati 916 in a while, and it’s great that WorldSBK is getting the spotlight it deserves.”

The Duke of Richmond remarked that Fogarty’s achievements merit recognition, expressing enthusiasm for his participation. His presence at the Festival forms part of a wider celebration of the Summer of ’95, with further details to follow soon.
