Kia UK launches nationwide ‘First Drive Weekend’ events, offering customers the first opportunity to test drive the EV2.

Kia UK has officially unveiled its nationwide ‘First Drive Weekend’ events, inviting drivers from across the country to be among the very first to experience the all-new Kia EV2. Running from 16 April to 27 June 2026, this initiative will tour nearly all of Kia’s 190-strong UK dealership network, offering exclusive early access to what promises to be a game-changer in the compact electric SUV market.

The ‘First Drive Weekend’ series is all about new beginnings. It’s a first look at Kia’s next-generation electric vehicle design, and for many, a first foray into the expanding world of Kia EVs. With limited spaces at each event, interested drivers are encouraged to secure their spot via Kia’s official booking website.

Each event takes place on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with dealerships providing a carefully curated experience. Guests will enjoy one-hour, pre-booked slots with up to four EV2 vehicles available, enabling multiple test drives simultaneously. The experience begins with a personal walkaround led by a Kia EV2 product expert, offering insights into the car’s innovative features and design philosophy. This is followed by a half-hour accompanied test drive on a planned route, giving participants a comprehensive introduction to the EV2’s performance and technology.

The EV2 itself is Kia’s most compact electric vehicle yet, designed and built in Europe specifically for European drivers. Despite its compact footprint—just over four metres in length—the EV2 boasts up to 362 litres of boot space and generous interior room, thanks to its dedicated EV platform. Two battery options (42.2kWh and 61.0kWh) promise best-in-class range, while rapid DC charging support means a quick 30-minute recharge from 10 to 80 percent.

Packed with high-end technology, the EV2 brings features such as triple-screen infotainment, over-the-air updates, and advanced driver assistance systems—amenities usually reserved for larger, pricier EVs—to the compact segment. Its bold ‘Opposites United’ design and focus on sustainable materials further set it apart.

Kia’s ‘First Drive Weekend’ continues the brand’s successful history of launching new EVs through engaging customer experiences, with previous events attracting thousands of enthusiastic participants. Full UK pricing and specifications for the EV2 will be announced soon, with initial customer deliveries expected later this year.
