MG is attracting attention at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with the launch of two advanced electric vehicles (EVs) that enhance the brand’s technological range: the MG IM5 executive saloon and the MG IM6 SUV. The “IM” designation stands for “Intelligence in Motion,” reflecting MG’s dedication to innovative automotive technology and design.
David Allison, Head of Product and Planning for MG, said, “MG has made EV ownership exciting and accessible. Now, with MG IM, we aim to set a new standard in technology and innovation.”
The MG IM5 Long Range can travel up to 441 miles on a single charge with a 100 kWh battery option, reaching 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds. The models feature luxury interiors with an ultra-HD 26.3-inch infotainment display, a 10.5-inch touchscreen, and high-quality audio systems, all while offering advanced features like One Touch Park Assist and bi-directional rear-wheel turning technology.
MG will introduce six models in the UK, with prices starting from £39,450 for the IM5 Standard 75 kWh version and reaching £52,995 for the exclusive Launch Edition of the larger IM6 SUV.
Returning to the festival, the MG Cyberster impressed in a new colour scheme, Cyberster Black, while the MG Cyber X concept showcased a fresh design direction, blending rugged styling with urban practicality. The MG EX4, a modern interpretation of the Metro 6R4 rally car, also made a comeback with an electric drivetrain and a striking new livery for the event.
