Automotive industry charity Ben is emphasising the ongoing cost-of-living pressures faced by automotive families and launching its third year of the summer holidays support programme.

Ben is dedicated to supporting families and individuals facing financial difficulties this summer and beyond. The programme provides essentials such as food, help with bills, school uniforms, emotional support, and chances for meaningful family time through outings and activities, creating lasting memories.

Over the past year, Ben’s helpline assisted more than 15,000 enquiries and distributed over 700 financial grants. Recent research shows that financial worries are a major concern for automotive workers, with many reporting skipped meals, debt issues, and financial difficulties.

Summer can be particularly demanding for parents because of extra expenses such as childcare and school supplies. Ben advises families to seek support, as quality family time is crucial for overall wellbeing.

Rachel Clift, Ben’s CEO, stated, “While summer should be enjoyable, it can bring stress for those facing financial difficulties. Our mission is to empower the automotive community to live their best lives, and we want to help families create meaningful experiences during this time.”

Ben is available for automotive families this summer and beyond. Those experiencing financial difficulties are encouraged to seek help, as early support can make a notable difference.
