Is the Aston V12 Vanquish a genuine Ferrari rival? VIDEO

Of course, a car like this is expensive. It starts at £330,000, and the model shown here, with options, costs about £400,000.

Aston Martin is known as one of the top British luxury car brands. Still, even with their strong reputation, Mat has never really been a big fan.

Now he has the chance to try out the all-new Vanquish and see if it can change his opinion. Let’s take a closer look at this luxury grand tourer.

When it comes to the design, the Vanquish is an absolute behemoth on the road, measuring almost 5 metres long! Up front, there is the traditional Aston Martin grille, though in this instance it’s larger than usual to allow maximum airflow to the huge V12 under the bonnet. The bonnet also features two carbon-fibre strakes, giving it even more presence on the road. Along the side, it sits low and sleek, while at the back, there’s the Shield, which may have proven divisive among the motoring world, but many think it gives the car extra presence and purpose. This is flanked by slashed LED lights, and there’s a huge diffuser below it. And of course, this is flanked either side by huge exhaust tips!

Most of the interior uses soft-touch, high-quality materials. Still, it’s not perfect. The top of the dashboard and the center console feel well made, but there are some cheaper plastics lower down. The infotainment screen is also not the biggest or most responsive. On the plus side, there are plenty of physical buttons on the center console, which is a big improvement over older Aston Martins.

The most impressive part of the Vanquish is under the bonnet. It has a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 835 horsepower and 1,000Nm of torque, which is more than any other Aston Martin. It also has 5 more horsepower than Ferrari’s well-known V12.

Of course, a car like this is expensive. It starts at £330,000, and the model shown here, with options, costs about £400,000.

Is it worth the price, and has it impressed Mat? Viewers will have to keep watching to find out.
