Volkswagen has confirmed the initial models in its all-electric ID. lineup that qualify for the £1,500 UK Government Electric Car Grant (ECG). Announced last month, this scheme allows significant savings at the point of purchase for a range of battery electric vehicles, making electric mobility more affordable for UK motorists.

Eight ID.3 variants are eligible, enabling immediate savings on the purchase price of these award-winning models. The £1,500 ECG discount will be applied automatically at purchase, with no additional paperwork needed.

With the discount, the ID. range starts at £29,360 for the ID.3 Pure Essential model. Eligible models include various ID.3 versions, such as Pro Essential and Pro S with different battery capacities.

Further eligibility for additional ID. models will be confirmed soon. To qualify for the ECG, Volkswagen meets strict technical and sustainability standards in its manufacturing, including the use of hemp-based imitation leather and support for renewable energy expansion in Europe.

Rod McLeod, Director of Volkswagen UK, stated, “We are committed to making all-electric motoring accessible to more drivers. The Electric Car Grant, along with competitive pricing and finance options, encourages the shift to sustainable mobility.”
