This week, Isuzu unveiled the new D-Max EV at Birmingham’s 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show (CV Show), introducing Europe’s first fully electric, commercially capable pick-up truck.

The D-Max EV features a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a WLTP range of 263 km. Equipped with dual motors, it produces 140 kW and 325 Nm of torque, achieving 0-62 mph in 10.1 seconds and a top speed exceeding 80 mph. It also includes full-time 4×4 capability, a payload capacity of over 1 tonne, and a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.

Key Features

The D-Max EV features multi-level regenerative braking, an Eco Mode, and off-road capabilities, allowing it to wade through 600 mm of water and offering a ground clearance of 210 mm. It boasts a De-Dion rear suspension for a quieter ride, reducing cabin noise and vibrations by up to 10%.

Trim Levels and Availability

Available in Extended Cab and Double Cab configurations, the D-Max EV will be offered in two premium trims that correspond to the diesel-powered D-Max DL40 and V-Cross models. Pre-sales are set to begin in the second half of 2025, with initial models arriving in February 2026 and deliveries starting in March 2026.

Sustainability and Performance

The D-Max EV generates no tailpipe emissions and is equipped with a long-lasting battery backed by an 8-year or 100,000-mile warranty, making it an eco-friendly option suitable for different sectors. Yasuhiro Takeuchi from Isuzu Motors conveyed pride in this introduction, emphasising its performance and towing capabilities. Meanwhile, Alan Able from Isuzu UK underscored the importance of working with fleet customers as they prepare for the right-hand drive model’s release in early 2026.
