Young Driver, the UK’s leading under-17 driver training company, has launched a fleet of Suzuki Swifts as part of a 170-car deal with Suzuki UK. The company aims to provide over 150,000 lessons annually.
With 15 years of experience and nearly 1.5 million lessons, Young Driver has reduced accident rates among graduates to just 3.3% within six months of passing their driving tests, significantly lower than the national average of 20%*.
Switching from Vauxhall Corsas due to reliability issues, Young Driver chose the Suzuki Swift for its quality, low emissions, fuel efficiency, and affordability. The new fleet accommodates drivers starting at age nine, provided they are at least 1.4 meters tall.

David Kateley, Director of Automobile at Suzuki UK, said, “The compact size and lightweight controls of the Swift Hybrid make it perfect for new drivers, offering the efficiency and safety they need.”
The fleet will feature 160 Suzuki Swift Motion models with a 1.2-litre mild hybrid engine, along with 10 Swifts equipped with CVT transmissions for young drivers with impaired abilities. All models come with He-Man Dual Controls, essential for novice drivers.
Young Driver is committed to eco-friendly driving, using the Suzuki Swift, which boasts a combined fuel consumption of 64.2 mpg and lower CO₂ emissions of 99 g/km, saving nearly £20,000 in fuel costs compared to the Vauxhall Corsa.
Young Driver’s first batch of Swifts, available in colors like Flame Orange and Burning Red, quickly impressed students. Katie, 13, noted, “I feel more confident in the Swift because I have a better view, and the gears and pedals are lighter to use.” Kane, 16, added, “It’s more responsive with better steering. Heated seats are great on a day like this!”
