Kia Corporation continues its support for the Australian Open, supplying a fleet of official tournament vehicles, including the all-electric EV5, EV6, and EV9, as well as hybrid models such as the Carnival HEV, Sorento HEV, and Sportage HEV.

As the Major Partner of AO25, Kia held a vehicle handover ceremony on January 8, attended by key figures including Kia Australia CEO Damien Meredith and Australian Open champion Ash Barty. With 24 years of support, Kia remains the tournament’s longest-serving major partner.

For this year’s event, Kia provided 130 vehicles, all of which are electrified. This includes 25 EV9s, 15 EV5s, 10 EV6s, 30 Carnival HEVs, 25 Sorento HEVs, and 25 Sportage HEVs, ensuring safe and sustainable transportation for players and officials from January 12 to January 26.

“Our partnership has always been about pushing boundaries and inspiring movement,” said Kia President Ho Sung Song. “Through this electrified fleet, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and to one of the world’s premier sporting events.”

Kia is also showcasing its all-electric lineup (EV3, EV5, EV6, and EV9) across Melbourne Park, engaging fans with EV technology.

Craig Tiley, Australian Open Tournament Director, expressed delight at the ongoing partnership, stating, “Kia and the Australian Open both champion the spirit of progress, making us perfect partners.”

Overall, this year’s fleet underscores Kia and the Australian Open’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, generating excitement as the tournament approaches.
