Renault will be showcasing its Twingo E-Tech electric prototype show car at the 2024 Paris Motor Show from October 14 to 20. The car was unveiled in November 2023 and will be presented to the public for the first time at the Motor Show.

Renault revolutionized the automobile world in 1992 with the introduction of the Twingo, known for its vibrant colors and its ability to make everyday life more enjoyable. The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype aims to recapture the original spirit with an all-electric car designed for city driving without compromises.

This prototype maintains a small footprint for agility in cities, while its five doors make it practical. The monovolume silhouette includes a fixed glass roof, filling the generously sized interior with light, in line with Renault’s philosophy of “voitures à vivre”.

Inspired by the first Twingo, this prototype features modern proportions and liquid-like surfaces, with up-to-the-minute upgrades and details such as the headlamps, now inside floating LED rings, combining techy and attractive looks.

The rear design is reminiscent of the original Twingo’s emblematic tail, with added modern touches like the black rim around the rear windshield and protruding taillights that give the car a high-tech feel. The Twingo lettering at the center of the tailgate adds cheer.

The car has an unmistakable face with expressive and endearing traits, including headlamps inspired by the first generation that give it a modern, high-tech feel. The ample glass roof fills the passenger compartment with daylight, creating a light-filled interior.

The handles across the doors on either side come straight from the 1992 model and now have a round rim that lights up. Additionally, the three small openings on the bonnet pay tribute to the car’s legacy.

The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype is the next chapter in a story that began more than 30 years ago and prefigures the fourth-generation production Twingo, set to be available in 2026. Developed to offer an entry price of less than *€20,000, it fulfils Renault’s pledge to put electric mobility within more people’s reach.

Approx. *£16,755 as we publish!
