The 1048bhp Mercedes AMG One holds the production car lap record at the Nürburgring. However, even with around 500bhp less, the current Porsche 911 GT3 RS could closely match its speed around the iconic track. With such impressive performance, is there really a need to go faster?
Manthey thinks so. They have introduced the Manthey Performance Kit for Porsche’s track-focused beast, the GT3 RS. This is Manthey’s most comprehensive upgrade to date, designed to compete with the GT3 RS’s advanced suspension and innovative active aerodynamics.
Before dismissing the idea of a tweaked Porsche, it’s worth noting that Manthey is 51% owned by Porsche. This makes it essentially a factory-developed car. Additionally, Manthey and Porsche’s GT division share the same test drivers, and the new kit can be purchased through Porsche dealerships.
Manthey has a storied history in racing, boasting multiple class wins at Le Mans. Recently, its 911s finished first and second in the LMGT3 category of this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship. If anyone knows how to enhance Porsche’s track performance, it’s them.
So, how has Manthey worked its magic on the GT3 RS?
