The highest-performing versions of the new Volkswagen Golf are now available for order at Volkswagen UK Retailers. These include the Golf GTI Clubsport, R, R Estate, and R Black Edition, which are some of the most powerful production cars currently produced by Volkswagen.
The Golf GTI Clubsport, with 300 PS, is now on sale in the UK shortly after being unveiled at the Nürburgring in Germany. It shares many styling enhancements with the Golf GTI but has its own unique Clubsport front bumpers with honeycomb air-intake grille and Volkswagen’s latest IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights. The rear features animated LED tail lights, while the side is completed by striking 18-inch Richmond alloy wheels. Keyless access and start, heated front seats, three-zone air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, and Volkswagen’s latest infotainment software and hardware are some of its standard features. The car is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol TSI engine with a seven-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG) that can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph. The new Golf GTI Clubsport is available from 8 August priced at £41,655 (on-the-road recommended retail price, including VAT).
The new Golf R and R Estate have optimized driving dynamics thanks to the DCC adaptive chassis control system, exclusive standard equipment, and an output of 333 PS – 13 PS more than their predecessors. The cars are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that transmits power to the seven-speed DSG and 4MOTION all-wheel drive with R-Performance Torque Vectoring. The top speed of both cars is 155 mph, which can be boosted to 167 mph with the optional R-Performance package. The cars also feature a redesigned front with IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and new LED tail light clusters. The interior is equipped with front sports seats with integrated head restraints and Volkswagen’s latest infotainment software and hardware. The new Golf R is priced from £43,320, and the R Estate from £44,685 (on-the-road recommended retail price, including VAT).
The Golf R Black Edition, armed with the same 333 PS 2.0-litre TSI engine as the standard R models, comes with 4MOTION four-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG transmission. It features a dark exterior with black 19-inch Estoril alloy wheels, darkened Volkswagen badges and R logos, brake calipers with a dark R logo, and darkened IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights. The car can accelerate to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 168 mph, thanks to the inclusion of the R performance package. The new Golf R Black Edition is available from 8 August priced at £44,570 (on-the-road recommended retail price, including VAT).
