The Dacia Duster is a car that we love because it’s designed for real life and is honest about where the money has been saved to keep the price down. However, there is now a new, third-generation Duster, which may have higher aspirations.
It has been styled differently, offers a hybrid powertrain option, and comes with many electronic safety features that the brand previously didn’t prioritize.
Top Gear’s Jason Barlow decided to test it by taking one to Morocco, partly because Dacia has a significant share of new-car sales in Morocco due to its French ownership and former colonial status, and partly because the new Duster and the Dacia brand are somewhat different from what came before. Dacia is even venturing into motorsport, including participating in the Dakar Rally. During the visit, Jason had the fortunate opportunity to witness Dacia’s new Sandrider racer being tested in the Moroccan desert.
Top Gear Magazine’s Associate Editor, Jason Barlow, will take you on a road trip to the middle of nowhere for the full experience.
