The Nissan LEAF returns with a sleek aerodynamic design, impressive range, and state-of-the-art technology.

The new LEAF 75kWh model can go up to 386 miles on a single charge and will be priced starting at £32,249. Production will begin in Sunderland in December, with the first customer deliveries set for February.

James Taylor, Managing Director of Nissan GB, said, “We’re very pleased to confirm the LEAF’s pricing at £32,249, including the electric car grant. This offers our customers an affordable way to own an electric vehicle. This is great news for those wanting to switch to electric driving. They can look forward to a car with up to 386 miles of range, all the technology they need, and the benefits of Nissan’s 15 years of EV experience. Plus, it’s proudly built in the UK!”

Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander praised Nissan’s leadership with the original LEAF and their efforts to make electric vehicles more affordable and accessible for families. She highlighted that this news will save drivers thousands, boost North East manufacturing, support thousands of jobs, and promote industry growth.

Since its launch in 2010, the Nissan LEAF has sold nearly 700,000 units worldwide, becoming the first mass-market electric vehicle. The all-new third-generation model marks a new chapter for this iconic car, redesigned to meet the needs of modern electric-vehicle buyers.

Built in Sunderland, the LEAF features a sleek new design, advanced technology, and several new driver assistance features. It is Nissan’s most aerodynamic production car, offering faster charging speeds and technologies that make driving easier. It includes Google Built-In, providing access to Google Maps without a phone and enabling app and game downloads from Google Play.

The 75 kWh battery offers drivers confidence with industry-leading real-world range. It can reach up to 269 miles at 70 mph on motorways, and uses as little as 4.5 miles per kWh, meaning fewer charging stops on longer journeys. When charging is required, the Nissan LEAF supports 150 kW DC fast charging, which can restore up to 273 miles in just 30 minutes.

The electric motor in the Nissan LEAF provides clean and responsive performance, delivering 160 kW (215 hp) of power and 355 Nm of torque, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 7.6 seconds in Sport Mode with the 75kWh battery. Overall, the new LEAF offers smooth driving with maximum efficiency.

Earlier this year, the LEAF won The Sun newspaper’s Car of the Year award at the Motor Awards 2025.
