The new Nissan Qashqai has been given a facelift compared to the previous model. Carwow’s Mat Watson will assess its ability to compete with rivals such as the Peugeot 3008, Kia Sportage, and Toyota C-HR.

The exterior design remains relatively similar to the previous model due to the facelift, but there are some noticeable changes. The front features a substantial new grille that spans almost the entire front end, and the headlights have been updated, with the DRLs now separate from the main headlamps.

New alloy wheel designs are available, and the taillights and rear bumper have also been updated. Inside, there are several updates, including a new infotainment screen that runs on Google. The dash has been redesigned, and physical climate controls have been retained, which is appreciated. The digital dial screen and seats have also been updated and are comfortable.

In terms of engines, there are two 1.3-litre four-cylinder options available, delivering 140hp and 158hp, respectively. The range-topper is the e-power edition, featuring a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with hybrid technology, producing 190hp. The Qashqai range starts at just over £30,000, and the e-power edition we have here is priced at almost £40,000. Is it worth it? You’ll need to join Mat to find out for yourself!
