A 1971 Cadillac once owned by John Entwistle, the bassist of The Who, is set to be auctioned by H&H Classics on Wednesday, April 9th, at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Cambridgeshire.
Estimated to sell for £15,000 to £25,000, this Cadillac Fleetwood Series Seventy-Five Limousine is one of only 848 made and reportedly inspired Entwistle’s 1973 song “Big Black Cadillac.”
Entwistle imported the car during The Who’s peak, and it was part of his lifestyle, with photos showing it outside his home and at bandmate Keith Moon’s estate. The vehicle is original, finished in black with black leather upholstery, and is now being sold from a private collection.
John Markey of H&H Classics stated that this classic car has an intriguing history and is likely to attract interest from fans and car enthusiasts alike.
Viewings will take place at the museum starting at noon on April 8th and 9th, with the auction beginning at noon on April 9th. Bidders can participate in person, online, by phone, or via commission bid.
