This all-electric version mirrors several features of the petrol-powered A6. The question is: can it compete with rivals like the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes E-Class?

At the front, the S6 has a blanked-out grille instead of the larger open grille of the petrol variant. It features split headlights, while the A6 has conventional ones; however, both showcase excellent headlight technology. The sleek side profile includes stylish door handles and black window surrounds, while the rear boasts a full-length light bar and a diffuser design.

Inside, the car is dominated by SCREENS! There’s a large combined infotainment and digital display on the dashboard, plus a third screen for the passenger. The updated infotainment system is modern, though competitors like BMW and Mercedes may offer superior options. The cabin features soft-touch materials and comfortable seats, but some of the lower areas do have scratchy plastic.

For powertrains, the lineup includes a 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with 204 hp and front-wheel drive, as well as a diesel option with all-wheel drive. The electric versions feature two RWD options; the entry-level model delivers 326 hp, while the top S6 e-tron produces an impressive 551 hp and 840 Nm of torque.

Pricing begins at £51,335 for the petrol A6 and £62,540 for the e-tron, while the S6 e-tron starts at £99,330. Is it worth it? Stick with Carwows’ Mat Watson to find out!
