Volkswagen has electrified its journey into the future, hitting an exhilarating new milestone: delivering two million all-electric vehicles to customers worldwide! The landmark two-millionth car—a gleaming ID.3—rolled off the production line at Volkswagen’s renowned Zwickau plant and was ceremoniously handed over to proud owner Kirsten Vormbrock at Dresden’s Transparent Factory this week.

Volkswagen’s road to electromobility began in 2013 with the debut of the pioneering e-up!, and the momentum hasn’t slowed since. The brand’s two million battery electric vehicles (BEVs) delivered to date encompass not only today’s state-of-the-art ID. family, but also trailblazing models like the e-Golf and the original e-up!. With this achievement, Volkswagen has cemented its status as a powerhouse in the electric vehicle market, taking a commanding lead in Germany and across Europe—and ranking among the world’s largest electric car manufacturers.

We laid the foundations for electromobility early on and are driving our transformation to an all-electric future with clear strategic priority,” said Martin Sander, Volkswagen Board Member for Sales, Marketing and After Sales. “Our strong market position, particularly in Germany and Europe, confirms the attractiveness and competitiveness of our electric portfolio.”

Volkswagen’s electrification journey is surging ahead—two million vehicles strong and counting!
