Leading agricultural distributor Agrii becomes one of the first UK operators to adopt the new all-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600.

Agrii, a leading agricultural distributor in the UK, has received its first all-electric heavy goods vehicle, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 LS ProCabin Stream 4×2. This is a crucial step in the company’s efforts to adopt lower-emission logistics.

Supplied by Midlands Truck & Van, the new eActros 600 has zero emissions and offers excellent long-distance performance. It is one of the first electric trucks to operate in the UK.

Agrii selected this vehicle after testing it on their regular routes. With a range of over 500 km, the eActros 600 can complete Agrii’s 460 km nightly round trip between its central distribution centre and depots on a single charge, with spare energy remaining.

Based on a typical annual distance of 60,000 km, the eActros 600 will help Agrii reduce carbon emissions by about 59 tonnes each year.

Richard Pinnock, Agrii’s National Distribution Manager, said, “It’s surprising that a truck this size can be electric and travel so far on one charge. Sustainability is vital for agriculture, and using our first electric truck is a key step in reducing our environmental impact.”

The eActros 600 operates quietly, which is particularly advantageous for night-time deliveries to rural areas, as it minimises noise and disruptions to local communities.

The eye-catching branding on the eActros 600 was applied by Finch Signs using Metamark Metaglide vinyl, ensuring a high-quality and durable finish. The wrap was printed on a new Roland VG3-540 printer, guaranteeing exceptional colour accuracy. The advanced adhesive technology enables precise application and repositioning, making it ideal for the truck’s complex shape.

This delivery marks another milestone in Agrii’s long-standing partnership with Midlands Truck & Van. Truck Sales Executive Amit Verma has helped develop the company’s Mercedes-Benz fleet for over ten years.

Amit Verma said, “Working with Agrii on this project has been a pleasure. From early testing to route analysis, this has been a true partnership. Delivering the first eActros 600 to Agrii is a proud moment for all of us.”

Heiko Selzam, Managing Director of Daimler Truck UK, added, “Agrii’s use of the eActros 600 shows that electric long-haul transport is ready for real-world use. With its range of over 500 km and proven performance, the eActros 600 helps forward-thinking companies like Agrii meet sustainability goals without sacrificing productivity.”
