Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer described the ID. Polo as a milestone, bringing the bestseller into the electric era with accessible pricing, advanced technology, and the brand’s signature design.
The ID. Polo is offered with three power options—85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW—paired with either LFP or NMC batteries. The 155 kW model, featuring a 52 kWh battery, delivers up to 454 km of range and supports rapid DC charging from 10 to 80 percent in 24 minutes. The lower-output versions use a 37 kWh battery and offer up to 329 km of range.
Measuring 4,053 mm in length, the ID. Polo surpasses its combustion-engine predecessor in space efficiency, offering a 25% larger luggage capacity—441 litres, expanding to 1,240 litres with seats folded. The five-seater aims to balance city driving with family practicality.
The ID. Polo debuts Volkswagen’s Pure Positive design language, featuring clear proportions and iconic elements like the C-pillar inspired by the original Golf. The car presents a modern, distinctive look while maintaining recognizable Volkswagen identity.
Inside, the Pure Positive design theme continues with high-quality materials and thoughtful details, such as decorative stitching and subtle Volkswagen branding.
The cockpit features a 10-inch Digital Cockpit and a centrally placed 13-inch Innovision infotainment touchscreen, offering clear graphics and user-friendly controls. A ‘retro display’ mode adds a nostalgic touch reminiscent of classic Volkswagen models.
Standard features include modern driver assist systems and one-pedal driving. Optional next-generation Travel Assist enables assisted steering and responds to traffic lights—a first in this segment.
The ID. Polo is available in Germany in the three equipment lines:
The entry-level Trend trim includes DC quick-charging, advanced assist systems, LED headlights, the 10-inch Digital Cockpit, 13-inch infotainment system, and automatic air conditioning as standard.
The mid-tier Life trim adds adaptive cruise control, a rear-view camera, park distance control, voice control, smartphone integration, and a variable luggage compartment floor.
The top-tier Style trim features IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, 3D LED tail lights, sport seats, ambient lighting, heated seats and steering wheel, and an enhanced ID. Light system that extends into the front doors to provide visual alerts.
Optional features include a Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic glass roof, and pneumatic massage seats with memory function—amenities typically reserved for higher segments.
The ID. Polo’s vehicle-to-load capability allows it to supply up to 3.6 kW to external devices, functioning as a mobile power source via internal and external outlets.
In Germany, pre-sales have opened with the ID. Polo Life (155 kW, 52 kWh battery) priced at 33,795 euros. The entry-level model, starting at 24,995 euros, will be available later in the summer.

UK pricing and availability will be announced at a later date.
