BYD has announced UK pricing and specifications for the new ATTO 3 EVO, the latest iteration of its New-Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup. The model will start at £38,990, representing only a modest increase over its predecessor despite a substantial upgrade in technical features and standard equipment.

On-the-road prices are £38,990 for the Design and £42,730 for the Excellence.
Two trim levels are available; the Design uses a single motor with 313PS, while the Excellence utilises a dual motor with 449PS, offering fully electric range of up to 316 miles.

The ATTO 3 EVO introduces a series of enhancements driven by customer feedback on the outgoing model. Key improvements include an updated exterior, a refined interior, increased power, a larger battery, extended range, faster charging capabilities, greater practicality, and a more streamlined trim structure.

Two trim levels are available: the Design and the Excellence. The entry-level Design, priced at £38,990, comes equipped with an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play Store integration, four USB-C ports, wireless smartphone charging with cooling, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a heat pump, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, and ambient lighting. The Excellence trim, at £42,730, builds on this specification by adding a head-up display, heated rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade.

The new ATTO 3 EVO represents a comprehensive technical upgrade to BYD’s first UK model, the ATTO 3, delivering greater range and faster charging.

Underpinning the ATTO 3 EVO is BYD’s latest E-Platform 3.0, marking a shift from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive in the Design and all-wheel drive in the Excellence. Performance figures have seen a notable increase: the Design variant delivers 309bhp and 380Nm of torque, achieving 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds, while the Excellence produces 443bhp and 560Nm, reducing the 0-62mph sprint to 3.9 seconds.

Battery capacity and charging have also been significantly improved. The 74.8kWh lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) Blade Battery now enables a WLTP range of up to 316 miles. Charging speeds have doubled, with a maximum rate of 220kW enabling a 10% to 80% charge in just 25 minutes.

The Blade Battery’s Cell-to-Body construction integrates the battery into the chassis, enhancing structural rigidity and allowing for a new five-link rear suspension that aims to improve ride and handling. Increased storage is another benefit, with boot space now at 490 litres—a 50-litre increase—and a new front trunk (“frunk”) providing an additional 95 litres.

The ATTO 3 EVO is covered by a six-year, 93,750-mile warranty, while the battery is warranted for up to eight years or 155,350 miles.
