MINI has unveiled a bespoke John Cooper Works Convertible, aptly named the ‘MINI.01’, crafted exclusively for a passionate American MINI aficionado. This road-legal, one-of-a-kind model dazzles with an eye-catching two-tone colour palette and boasts more than 50 unique features integrated into its interior and exterior. The MINI.01 marks a milestone for MINI Plant Oxford, setting a new benchmark in factory-led customisation and celebrating the brand’s enduring relationship with its most dedicated fans.
On the exterior, MINI.01 commands attention with its split, triple-layered two-tone paintwork in Midnight Black and a bespoke metallic green—a colour personally selected by the owner and unprecedented in MINI’s history. Factory-installed John Cooper Works (JCW) accessories, including colour-matched front and side winglets adorned with unique detailing, complement the bold 18-inch JCW Rallye Spoke alloy wheels. The distinctive paint extends to the rear diffuser, while wing mirrors sport playful black and white stripes. Signature touches such as the ‘MINI SUPER SPECIAL 001’ inscription above the front wheel arch and a MINI.01 badge on the boot lid further distinguish this exclusive vehicle. Topping it off, a Union Jack soft-top roof pays homage to Plant Oxford and MINI’s proud British roots.
Inside, the MINI.01 continues its exclusive theme with green accents gracing the seat inserts, toggle bar trim, dashboard strap, and Harman Kardon speaker housings—all colour-coordinated to match the exterior’s bespoke shade. A sharp contrast is provided by matte white finishes on the air vents, cupholder surrounds, and door handles. The interior is peppered with ‘MINI.01’ badging, visible on the six o’clock steering wheel position, wireless charging pad, and custom floor mats. Illuminated doorsill plates, emblazoned with the ‘MINI SUPER SPECIAL .01’ inscription, greet every occupant, underscoring the vehicle’s unique status.
Markus Grüneisl, CEO of Plants Oxford and Swindon, hailed the project as a shining example of collaboration between the MINI product and design teams, local market, and Plant Oxford’s production experts. “We’re delighted with the result and craftsmanship that showcases what our team in the UK can achieve,” Grüneisl remarked, reflecting the pride and spirit behind MINI.01’s creation.
The introduction of MINI.01 not only highlights MINI’s ongoing dedication to vehicle individuality but also demonstrates the brand’s prowess in bespoke manufacturing at its historic Plant Oxford facility.
