OMODA and JAECOO UK have launched an EV Tax Rebate for the all-electric OMODA E5 and JAECOO E5. This rebate helps drivers save 3p per mile for up to 20,000 miles.
This programme responds to the UK Budget plan to charge EV drivers 3p per mile starting in 2028-2029. OMODA and JAECOO UK will cover these costs for qualifying vehicles purchased through its approved retailer network with approved finance options.
Although the tax begins in three years, drivers can access this rebate now by purchasing vehicles with a 48-month finance agreement. This helps control future tax costs during the finance period.
The rebate cuts running costs and car ownership expenses, as electric vehicles are vital to the UK’s transport and environmental aims.
Gary Lan, CEO of OMODA and JAECOO UK, said, “Today’s Budget introduces a new 3p-per-mile EV tax starting in 2028-2029. We want to help our customers switch to electric vehicles smoothly—right now, not years from now. Our EV Tax Rebate for the OMODA E5 and JAECOO E5 helps offset the first few years of this tax, giving drivers thousands of miles of cost-free driving. These vehicles lead in electric mobility, and this initiative shows our commitment to making clean transport accessible to UK drivers from the start.”
The average EV driver travels approximately 8,740 miles annually, so OMODA and JAECOO UK plan to offset two to three years of this mileage through the EV Tax Rebate.
