Emira 420 Sport: the lightest and most powerful yet

The engine delivers 420PS and 500 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission for rapid acceleration and immediate response.

A pure expression of the Lotus DNA, with every advancement made in the pursuit of performance: carbon fibre, titanium exhaust, lithium-ion battery, two-way adjustable Multimatic dampers and high-performance tyres.
Emira 420 Sport is now available to order, with customer deliveries expected from August 2026.

Lotus has unveiled the Emira 420 Sport, marking it as the most powerful, lightest, and aerodynamically advanced model in the Emira lineup.

Positioned at the top of the Emira range, the 420 Sport is engineered for heightened on-road and track performance, underscoring Lotus’s commitment to agility, responsiveness, and driver engagement.

Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the Emira 420 Sport generates 420PS, accelerates from 0–62mph in 3.9 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 186mph.

The optional Lightweight Handling Pack reduces weight by 25kg compared to the Emira Turbo, adds 25kg of downforce, and incorporates aerodynamic upgrades that enhance cooling and track capability without increasing drag.

A removable tinted glass roof panel is now available across the Emira range.

Lotus Group CEO Qingfeng Feng emphasised the company’s commitment to innovation and driver-focused engineering with the introduction of the Emira 420 Sport.

More performance, reduced weight.

The Lightweight Handling Pack features adjustable Multimatic dampers, a titanium exhaust, a lithium-ion battery, carbon fibre components, and a Lotus Track Performance app.

Upgraded aerodynamic and cooling
Exterior revisions—such as a new front splitter, extended side sills, revised vents, and a louvred tailgate—boost radiator and brake cooling while increasing exhaust valve airflow, resulting in improved performance under demanding conditions.

The updates also subtly reference Lotus’ design heritage, echoing cues seen on cars such as the Esprit Turbo.

Chassis and driver focus engagement.
A 5mm lower ride height, revised suspension, and high-performance tyres enhance control and feedback, building on Lotus’s reputation for steering precision and chassis balance.

The bonded aluminium chassis and double wishbone suspension deliver a balance of comfort and handling, complemented by electro-hydraulic power steering.

The interior features 12-way adjustable seats, a driver-focused layout, intuitive controls, and new carbon fibre gearshift paddles for enhanced engagement.

Gavin Kershaw, Director of Attributes at Lotus Cars, stated that the 420 Sport refines the Emira’s renowned ride and handling with enhanced dampers, increased downforce, and sharper responses.

The Lotus Emira 420 Sport reinforces Lotus's commitment to preserving its DNA by delivering greater agility, responsiveness and driver engagement.

Enhanced personalisation
An optional exterior carbon fibre pack is available, encompassing the front splitter, side sills, wheel arch vents, side pods, rear spoiler, and diffuser surround.

Buyers can choose from nine wheel designs and finishes, including new 20-inch 15-spoke forged alloy wheels in satin dark grey.

The Emira 420 Sport offers 16 colour options, including the uniquely vivid Tangelo Orange.

Two new optional interior packs are offered:

  • The Carbon Fibre Pack updates the driver display, steering wheel, and seat logo surround.
  • The Hand Painted Pack applies Tangelo Orange highlights to the centre console, steering wheel, gear lever, and air vent surrounds.

Exhilarating open-air driving from Lotus
The removable tinted glass roof panel, inspired by the Esprit, can be quickly detached and stored behind the seats, allowing for easy switching between coupé and open-top driving without affecting performance.

The feature is now available across all Emira variants.
