The BMW 5 Series Touring is entering a new era with its sixth generation. The latest model features digital innovations, advanced automated driving and parking systems, and for the first time, an all-electric drive with the BMW i5 Touring. It offers increased space, versatile drive options, and will be available in four trim levels in the UK. The all-electric model will launch in May 2024, followed by the plug-in hybrid later in the year. Priced from £59,455, the first BMW 5 Series Touring with customers taking delivery in the UK from the 25th of May.
The UK launch of the BMW 5 Series Touring will introduce a Sport Edition for both the Saloon and Touring models, providing an impressive entry point into the BMW i5 range. This edition boasts 19” light alloy wheels, Phytonic Blue Metallic paint, unique exterior styling highlights, a modern interior with a Veganza two-spoke steering wheel, the state-of-the-art Interaction Bar, Harmon Kardon sound system, and AC Professional Charging for up to 22kW charging as standard.
The new BMW i5 Touring introduces a groundbreaking all-electric premium model available in two versions. The top model, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring, boasts an impressive electric all-wheel drive with up to 601 hp, achieving a remarkable 0 to 62 mph acceleration in 3.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring delivers a maximum output of 340 hp and can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 6.1 seconds. Both models are equipped with a high-voltage battery providing a usable energy content of 81.2 kWh, resulting in a substantial range of 277 to 314 miles for the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Touring and 300 to 348 miles for the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring.
BMW Charging provides cutting-edge solutions for electric and plug-in hybrid models. The high-voltage battery can be charged with up to 22 kW of alternating current as standard, and up to 205 kW of direct current. Anticipatory thermal management ensures optimal efficiency for fast-charging. Connected Home Charging facilitates solar and cost-optimized charging. Additionally, the BMW i5 Touring fully supports the Plug & Charge Multi-Contract function.
